Land Reclamation — Coastal Dredging & Consolidation Simulator

A cutter-suction dredger pumps sand slurry from the seabed through a pipeline into a geotextile- or rock-contained fill zone, gradually raising a strip of seabed above sea level to create new land — the same technique behind projects like Palm Jumeirah and the Dutch polders. Freshly pumped sand is loose and water-saturated, sitting higher than its final grade; wellpoint drains pull out the excess pore water so the fill consolidates and settles toward a stable elevation over time. Tune the pumping rate and the perimeter barrier type to see how containment efficiency and consolidation speed trade off.
