Biodiversity Finance Gap: Funding the 30×30 Target

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework set a concrete number behind its ambition: at least $200 billion a year in biodiversity finance by 2030, alongside protecting 30% of the planet's land and ocean (the "30×30" target) and getting every country to adopt a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP). This simulator models the three funding streams — domestic public budgets, international aid, and private capital — as they climb toward targets you set, tracks how fast countries adopt NBSAPs, and shows that effective conservation progress depends on both: money that arrives without national plans to spend it on doesn't turn into protected habitat.
