How it works

Each product node holds zero or more of four certifications — FSC, MSC, EU Ecolabel, Carbon Trust. An audit isn't permanent: its confidence decays exponentially the longer it goes un-renewed, exactly like a real certificate lapsing toward re-audit:

A product is flagged as a greenwashing risk when trust < 0.35 — typically products leaning on stale or absent certifications while making broad, unquantified claims ("eco-friendly", "sustainable") rather than specific, auditable ones ("42% recycled fibre, FSC-C012345").

Audit half-life — how fast a certification's confidence decays without renewal. Real programmes (FSC, MSC) re-audit annually; shorten it to see stale claims collapse faster.
Vague-claim penalty — how harshly the model punishes marketing language that isn't backed by a specific, checkable number.
Time speed — advances the simulated calendar; every held certificate's age grows and its edge dims as decay_i falls.
Renew All Audits — resets every held certificate's age to 0, simulating a market-wide re-audit cycle.
Add Vague-Claim Product — injects a new node with few/no certifications and mostly vague claims, the archetypal greenwashing profile.

Node colour runs red → yellow → green with trust score; the four hubs are the certifying bodies, and a line's brightness tracks that specific certificate's remaining decay confidence.
