Conservation Monitoring Simulator

Conservation programs rarely see their whole population or habitat at once — they collect population counts and habitat assessments through periodic surveys and extrapolate from there. This simulator visualizes that process directly: a 10×10 habitat grid whose quality drifts each year under a chosen restoration or degradation trend, and a wildlife population that grows toward a carrying capacity set by that habitat quality while threat pressure adds to its mortality. Each simulated survey samples only a slice of the grid — set by the coverage slider — and extrapolates a population estimate and a detection confidence from what was actually counted, so you can see how survey frequency and sampling coverage change how quickly a real trend becomes a confident number.
