Climate Range Shift & Ecosystem Resilience

A species' comfortable temperature band never sits still under climate change — it marches poleward and upslope as the planet warms, and only populations that can migrate fast enough, through habitat that is still connected, manage to follow it. This simulation places a population on a latitude-by-elevation grid, warms the whole grid over time, and lets you control how quickly warming happens, how far the species can disperse each generation, and how fragmented the land in between has become. Watch the population thin out on the warm side and recolonize the cold side, or collapse in place when fragmentation cuts the corridor it needs.
