Invasive Species Front: Reaction-Diffusion Spread Simulator

This simulation models how an invasive species colonises a landscape as a travelling wave rather than a single number ticking up over time. A grid of cells each holds a local density of native and invasive species; the invader disperses into neighbouring cells while both populations grow logistically and compete for the same space, exactly the reaction-diffusion mechanics behind real invasion fronts — the advancing edge of an emerald ash borer outbreak, a knotweed stand, or a cane toad range expansion. Tune the diffusion rate, invader growth rate and competitive pressure to see how each reshapes the front's speed and how much native cover survives behind it, then deploy a containment line and watch whether a local control strip is enough to stop — or merely slow — an established invasion.
