🐝 Running Collaborative Beekeeping and Pollinator Projects

A community apiary network where partner sites — cooperative apiaries, schools, farms and gardens — share hives and wildflower corridors around a central funding hub, with foraging bees moving along the corridors that link them.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

Isolated hives and habitat patches support far fewer pollinators than the same resources arranged as a connected network. Corridor coverage and shared funding directly determine how many bees can move between sites.

🎮 How to Use

Set the number of partner sites, how densely the corridors between them are planted, and the project's funding level, then step through the seasons to see bloom density and forager activity change.

💡 Did You Know?

Multi-partner pollinator projects — pooling land from landowners, schools and community groups — routinely outperform single, isolated apiaries because connected forage lets pollinators travel further between blooms.
