Terracing, contour plowing and cover cropping all fight the same enemy — rainfall runoff picking up speed and carrying topsoil downhill. This simulator isolates the contour-plowing mechanism specifically: a tilted field is ribbed with level furrows running across the slope instead of straight down it, and simulated rain generates a stream of runoff droplets whose motion is governed by real slope acceleration, furrow capacity and infiltration drainage. Toggle contour furrows on and off on the same field to see runoff velocity and sediment export change directly, and tune furrow spacing, furrow capacity, slope angle and rainfall intensity to explore how conservation tillage design responds to real site conditions.
