Total Contact Cast Offloading — 3D Biomechanics Companion
This is a genuine Three.js/WebGL companion to the 2D Total Contact Cast simulator. It reproduces the exact same staged clinical model — patient selection, wound preparation and padding, three-point casting, weight-bearing monitoring, and healing outcomes — but renders the leg, ankle, foot, cast shell, felt padding over bony prominences, rocker sole and the plantar pressure hotspot as a real, orbitable 3D scene instead of a flat 2D illustration.
The underlying math is identical to the original: peak plantar pressure follows the same relative-pressure-index array by stage (100 → 80 → 15 → 15 → 3, corresponding to the clinically documented 70-90% reduction once a total-contact cast is applied and molded), the wound sphere shrinks and shifts from red to green as the "weeks since application" slider advances toward the ~6-8 week healing window, and the pressure-hotspot particles orbiting the wound speed up and dim using the exact same angle += speed * (1.6 - adherence) and opacity = 0.35 * (1.4 - adherence) formulas as the 2D canvas version — so lower device adherence still visibly worsens the pressure concentration at the wound site, only now in three dimensions you can rotate around.
Drag to orbit the leg and cast, scroll or pinch to zoom, and step through the five clinical stages with Prev/Next to watch the cast shell, rocker sole and padding markers appear in sequence exactly as they would during a real total-contact-cast application.
