Quantum key distribution guarantees the security of a single fiber hop — but the no-cloning theorem means that hop cannot simply be amplified like ordinary light, so real-world QKD deployments beyond one span rely on a chain of physically-secured trusted nodes, each decrypting and re-encrypting the key with a fresh local QKD link. This simulator renders that relay chain in 3D between an Alice and a Bob endpoint, computes the fiber-loss-limited secure key rate for every hop from a realistic attenuation model, and lets you roll an independent compromise probability at each relay to see exactly how one breached node exposes every hop downstream of it — visualized live as the key-bit stream along the chain switches from green to red.
