This simulator models the mechanics of stake-weighted Byzantine consensus, the family of algorithms (Tendermint/CometBFT, Ethereum's beacon chain) that replaced Proof-of-Work mining in most modern blockchains. Each round a validator is chosen to propose a block through a stake-weighted lottery, the rest of the validator set casts stake-weighted votes, and the block only finalizes once "yes" votes account for at least two-thirds of total staked value — the classical Byzantine fault tolerance bound. Dial the adversarial validators' stake share up past roughly a third and watch finalization start failing exactly where the math predicts it should. A "force double-sign" control lets you trigger an equivocation fault and see the protocol slash the offending validator's stake and evict it from future rounds, the mechanism real proof-of-stake chains use to make dishonest behaviour economically self-destructive.
