How it works

A handful of random "node seeds" are scattered across the plane, then each seed is connected to its two nearest neighbours to form a filament skeleton. Every galaxy is assigned a target: a node, a point along a filament, or the diffuse background, weighted by the filament-clustering and void-size sliders. All galaxies then interpolate from a uniform starting scatter toward that target with an ease-out cubic, so the web-like structure appears to condense out of noise.

Nodes — bright clusters where filaments intersect.
Filaments — threads connecting nearby node seeds.
Voids — the dim, sparse majority of the plane between them.
