Software effort estimation is one of the oldest hard problems in software engineering, and the COCOMO model is the classic answer: a single power-law relationship, effort equals a coefficient times project size raised to an exponent above one, tuned by a development mode and an adjustment factor for team and tooling quality. This simulator renders that relationship as a real 3D surface over project size (KLOC) and the Effort Adjustment Factor, with a marker showing exactly where your chosen project sits, and live readouts for estimated effort in person-months, schedule in months, and the average team size those two numbers imply.
