Push Notification Fatigue vs Retention

Push notifications are the sharpest tool in a mobile app's retention kit — and the easiest way to destroy retention if overused. This simulator runs a live cohort of 200 users through 60 simulated days: each notification nudges a user's engagement score up with diminishing returns, but also adds to a fatigue score that, once it crosses a threshold, makes that user opt out of notifications entirely — after which their engagement has nothing left holding it up and decays toward churn anyway. Tune notification frequency, the strength of the re-engagement boost, how fast fatigue builds, and baseline churn sensitivity, then watch the 3D cohort field and the live retention curve to find the notification cadence that keeps the most users active by day 30 — the same dose-response trade-off real product teams tune with A/B tests and frequency capping.
