How it works

150 users stand fixed around a 24-hour clock ring, placed at the angle of their own true personal peak-engagement hour. A hand sweeps continuously around the ring as simulated time passes. Twice a lap, two different send events fire:

P(open | h) = floor + (1−floor) · exp(−Δ(h, peak)² / 2σ²)

Blanket broadcast — once per lap, when the hand reaches the fixed blanket hour, a translucent wave pulses outward from the centre and hits every user at once, regardless of where they stand on the ring.
Personalized send — each user's own pin flashes individually, at the moment the hand passes their predicted peak hour (their true peak plus a random error scaled by the targeting-noise slider). With low noise the flash lands almost exactly under the hand as it passes that user; with high noise the flash visibly misfires, well before or after the hand reaches them.

Each flash turns green if that user opens the notification (sampled from their true engagement curve) or red if they don't. Pin colour outside a flash encodes the user's own peak hour on a 24h colour wheel, so the ring itself reads as a population census — dense colour bands show where the chronotype clusters sit.
