This simulator demonstrates the principles of studio photography lighting: how a key light, a fill light and a rim light combine to shape a subject in three dimensions. Drag the key light around the subject on real azimuth and elevation angles, change its distance and softbox size, and dial in fill and rim ratios — the render updates live using the inverse-square falloff law and Lambertian shading, with a numeric lighting-ratio readout in photographic stops so you can see exactly why moving a light two feet closer, or swapping a bare bulb for a softbox, changes the picture.
