Camera bodies and lenses are equipment choices, and this simulator isolates the single biggest one: focal length combined with sensor format. Pick a lens on a real 3D set with a subject and a row of fixed background markers, choose Full-Frame, APS-C or Micro Four Thirds, and watch the "auto-dolly" logic move the virtual camera back or forward so the subject keeps filling the same part of the frame — exactly what a photographer does when they zoom or change lenses and reposition. The background compression that results is computed live from real field-of-view and distance formulas, not a canned animation, alongside 35mm-equivalent focal length, camera distance and a thin-lens depth-of-field estimate for the chosen aperture.
