Reaction Time & Hick's Law Lab

How fast can a nervous system decide, and how does that speed change as the number of choices grows? This simulator lets you take a real, timed reaction-time trial yourself, then run batches of simulated participants whose response times are drawn from the classic ex-Gaussian model and centred on the mean predicted by Hick's Law, RT = a + b·log2(N+1). Each simulated trial races down a 3D lane as an instanced sphere and lands in a live-growing histogram, so you can watch the population's right-skewed reaction-time distribution take shape bin by bin as you raise the number of choices, the decision-time noise, or the lapse-tail rate.
