Counseling Psychology Simulator

Counseling psychology treats behaviour change as a gradual, non-linear process built on a working relationship rather than a single decisive moment. This simulator makes that process visible: a client orb ascends a five-stage helix of change while a counselor orb nearby projects an alliance beam whose brightness tracks how strong the therapeutic relationship currently is. Empathic attunement builds that alliance over time, session pace turns alliance into forward movement, and ambivalence works against both — slowing progress and occasionally triggering a relapse slide back down the current stage, just as real change rarely follows a straight line. Adjust the sliders and toggle reflective listening to see how the balance between rapport-building and pace-of-change shapes the client's path.
