Theory of Mind: The False-Belief Task (2D)

A 2D companion to the 3D Sally-Anne false-belief task, built around the same real belief-tracking algorithm: each agent's model of the world only updates when that agent actually witnesses the change, so an agent who stepped out of the room keeps an outdated — false — belief even after reality moves on. Step through the canonical scenario on a top-down stage, extend it to a second-order question (what one agent thinks another agent believes), introduce a distraction that breaks that second-order tracking, and sample a simulated child subject's answer from a developmental age curve modeled on the meta-analytic false-belief literature.
