This simulation models how real environmental-monitoring technology tracks pollution: a source keeps emitting a pollutant into the air while wind carries it downwind and diffusion spreads it sideways, all computed live from an advection-diffusion-decay equation over a 3D height-mapped grid. A network of fixed sensor stations samples the field exactly the way an air-quality or water-quality IoT network would, lighting up when local concentration crosses an alert threshold. Adjusting wind speed and direction, emission rate, alert threshold and sensor density shows a real engineering trade-off in environmental monitoring: sparse sensor grids leave blind spots between their nodes even when every sensor is working correctly, and the simulation quantifies exactly how large that gap is.
