This simulator models the guard-cell turgor mechanism that closes stomata under drought stress. Two guard cells bow apart to open the pore when light-driven ion pumping raises their internal turgor pressure, and collapse back together when falling soil water potential and rising abscisic acid (ABA) signalling trigger K⁺ and anion efflux. Adjust light, soil water potential and ABA concentration independently, or press "Simulate drought progression" to watch the pore close in real time as the soil dries out, while live readouts track stomatal aperture, guard-cell turgor pressure and relative transpiration rate.
