Aquifer Overdraft & Land Subsidence Simulator

Pump a confined aquifer through a single well and watch a real Cooper–Jacob cone of depression spread outward through a 3D water-table mesh while an animated flow field of particles is drawn toward the well at the Darcy-implied radial velocity. Every meter of head decline raises the effective stress carried by an underlying clay aquitard; once that stress exceeds the clay's historical maximum it compacts irreversibly, and the simulator accumulates that compaction into a real, permanent subsidence bowl at the ground surface — the same mechanism measured by GPS and InSAR in real over-pumped groundwater basins. Adjust discharge, transmissivity and storativity, move the observation radius, and pause pumping to see the elastic part of the compaction slowly recover while the inelastic part stays sunk for good.
