This simulator models Earth's climate response to CO2 emissions with a two-layer ocean-atmosphere energy balance model — the same mathematical structure used to translate equilibrium climate sensitivity into real-world transient warming. Set an annual emission rate and the atmosphere's CO2 concentration builds up according to the airborne fraction that survives ocean and land carbon sinks; that concentration drives a logarithmic radiative forcing, which heats a fast mixed-layer "upper ocean" box while a slow deep-ocean box drains heat away and stores it for later. Tune the climate feedback parameter to change equilibrium sensitivity, tune ocean heat uptake to change how much warming is deferred into the deep ocean, and tune polar amplification to see how the Arctic and tropics diverge from the global mean as the 3D globe's ice caps and surface colour respond in real time.
