Agricultural Methane Simulator

Agriculture is one of the largest human sources of methane, a gas roughly 28-34 times more potent than CO2 over a 100-year horizon. This simulator visualizes its three main pathways side by side: a cattle herd belching methane produced by microbes fermenting fibre in the rumen (enteric fermentation), a flooded rice paddy fermenting organic matter anaerobically, and a manure pit decomposing without oxygen. Scale the herd and paddy area, then toggle feed additives, alternate wetting-and-drying and manure digesters to see how each mitigation strategy slows the atmospheric CO2-equivalent buildup shown by the haze gauge.
