Climate Risk Scenario Forge — 3D Portfolio Companion
The 2D "Climate Risk Scenario Forge" original is a scenario-planning brochure page describing physical risk (heat, flood, storm), transition risk and ESG reporting modules without any live simulation behind them. This 3D companion builds the real quantitative mechanic the title implies: a portfolio of 56 assets — ports, energy grid nodes, warehouses, factories and residential sites — scattered across a genuine 3D terrain that rises from a low coastline to an inland plateau, each asset rendered as an orbitable risk pillar.
Every asset's combined risk score is computed live from the same four risk channels named in the original's "Programs & tracks": heatRisk = clamp((warming − assetHeatThreshold)/3, 0, 1), floodRisk = clamp(1 − (elevation − seaLevel)/8, 0, 1) so low-lying coastal assets flood first as sea level rises, stormRisk = stormIntensity × assetStormVulnerability, and transitionRisk = (carbonPrice/300) × assetEmissionsIntensity, combined as 0.30·heat + 0.30·flood + 0.25·storm + 0.15·transition. Pillar height always reflects combined risk; a risk-lens selector re-colors every pillar by a single channel (heat, flood, storm or transition) to isolate which driver dominates a scenario, exactly the kind of scenario-comparison the original's "Data & simulation layers" described but never implemented.
Four live sliders — global warming, sea level rise, storm intensity and carbon price — plus three SSP-style one-click scenario presets (SSP1-1.9, SSP2-4.5, SSP5-8.5) drive the terrain's ocean level and every pillar's height and color in real time, while the readout panel reports portfolio-wide Loss at Risk, average risk score, share of assets at severe risk (>60%) and total portfolio value.
