Crosshole Seismic Tomography: SIRT Plume Inversion

This 2D simulator inverts the same crosshole seismic survey as the site's 3D version — straight-ray travel times fired between two boreholes through a hidden CO₂-plume velocity anomaly — but with a genuinely different reconstruction algorithm: the Simultaneous Iterative Reconstruction Technique (SIRT) instead of ART/Kaczmarz. SIRT computes every ray's correction from one shared snapshot of the model and averages the accumulated corrections into each grid cell only once per sweep, rather than updating the model ray-by-ray. Adjust station density and the CO₂-induced velocity drop, then run the inversion and watch the reconstructed image converge toward the true low-velocity plume, with live travel-time residual and model-error readouts tracking the (numerically verified, monotonic) convergence.
