Sphagnum moss CO₂ sequestered (sinking) CO₂ released (rising) Water table

Peat Rehabilitation (2D)

This 2D companion drives the same restoration formulas as the 3D peat rehabilitation lab — CO₂ balance, water-table rise and peat growth as functions of restoration years, sphagnum cover and water level — through a plain canvas cross-section instead of an orbiting scene: moss tufts and trees grow with cover and years, a dashed line marks the water table, and small particles sink (sequestration) or rise (emission) depending on whether the CO₂ balance is currently positive or negative.
