This is the 2D counterpart to the 3D thermal-circulation simulator, but it reaches the same physical reversal by a genuinely different route: instead of evaluating a prescribed analytic streamfunction shape every frame, it integrates the real vorticity-streamfunction form of the 2D Boussinesq equations on a finite-difference grid — land and sea buoyancy forcing generates vorticity baroclinically, a Poisson solve turns that vorticity into a mass-conserving streamfunction every physical timestep, and the resulting wind field literally has to build up over time rather than snapping instantly to the current temperature contrast. Watch the daytime sea breeze spin up as land outheats the sea, then dissipate and reverse into the nighttime land breeze — with a visible lag, real vorticity generation, and live readouts measured straight from the solved flow field rather than a separate formula.
