This simulator computes the same coupled soil–plant–atmosphere water physiology as the 3D guard-cell model, plotted as a live 2D dashboard: real soil moisture depletion driven by the plant's own transpiration, real soil-to-leaf hydraulic transport integrated over time to produce leaf water potential, a real sigmoidal stomatal-conductance response to that water potential, and the resulting photosynthesis-vs-transpiration tradeoff traced out live as a scrolling chart. Adjust the atmospheric dryness, root-zone water buffer, hydraulic conductance and stomatal drought sensitivity to see how different plant strategies ration a limited water supply.
