Climate risk to agriculture rarely shows up as a single catastrophic event — it accumulates, day by day, as temperatures during a heatwave push past a crop's physiological tolerance during its most sensitive growth stage. This 2D companion renders the same stress-degree-day model as a live time-series chart: a raised-cosine heatwave pulse, centred on flowering, is added to a seasonal temperature curve, and every day the field accumulates degree-days above the crop's own heat threshold — visible directly as the shaded area between the temperature curve and the threshold line. A second panel tracks the resulting population-wide distribution of plant health as a histogram, since every simulated plant carries its own small random tolerance offset and wilts unevenly, exactly like a real heat-stressed field.
