This 2D companion to the 3D weather fronts simulation puts the two boundary types side by side: a cross-section view shows the correct frontal slope geometry — a cold front's steep, fast-advancing wedge that punches warm air up into cumulonimbus towers, versus a warm front's shallow, slow-climbing ramp that lifts warm air gradually into a layered cirrus-to-nimbostratus deck — while a top-down weather-map view renders each with its standard triangle or semicircle symbol so the map notation maps directly onto the physical mechanism driving it.
