MOF Open Metal Site Catalysis — 2D Radial Diffusion View

This 2D companion to the 3D open-metal-site model represents the same MOF pore as a flat circular cross-section: substrate molecules undergo a 2D random walk, bind to the central Lewis-acidic metal site within a tunable capture radius, convert to product on a stochastic clock set by kcat, and are released back into the pore. Rather than an orbiting 3D camera, this view pairs the pore arena with a live radial concentration profile — particle density measured in true 2D annuli around the site — and a turnover-frequency timeline, exposing the diffusion-limited depletion zone that forms around a fast catalytic site. Pan and zoom the arena freely while the kinetics keep running; sliders for concentration, diffusion rate, capture radius and kcat move the system between diffusion-limited and reaction-limited turnover regimes.
