The 180° Line: Documentary Camera Blocking Simulator

Documentary filmmaking lives and dies on continuity: when an editor cuts between an interview camera, a reaction cutaway and a verité wide shot, the audience needs the subjects to stay on the same side of the frame from cut to cut. This simulator renders two interview subjects and an imaginary axis line between them, then lets you fly a real shot camera anywhere around them in 3D. A live "director's monitor" — an actual second camera rendering the same scene — shows exactly what that shot would look like, and a continuity readout tracks which side of the line you're on using the same cross-product geometry a script supervisor reasons about by eye. Flip across the line and watch the subjects visibly swap left and right on the monitor, or try the wide/medium/close-up coverage presets to see how real documentary shot lists stay on one consistent side.
