This simulator models the two crafts that turn plain cloth into a tie-dye pattern: folding and resist-dyeing. Choose how the fabric is folded — spiral, accordion pleats, a bullseye gather, or a loose crumple — set how many rubber-band resist ties are cinched around it, pick a dye color, and dab it onto the cloth. Underneath, a real 2D diffusion grid solves the heat-equation-like Fickian transport equation frame by frame, with the resist ties acting as near-zero-diffusivity barriers, so the pattern that emerges is the same symmetry-plus-blocking logic real tie-dye artists rely on, not a canned texture.
