3D Sculpting Simulation — Pottery Wheel Lathe

This simulation demonstrates digital sculpting through the lathe technique: a form is defined entirely by its radius profile r(y) and generated by revolving that profile around a central axis, the same principle behind a potter's wheel and CNC lathe turning. Pick a starting shape, switch into Carve mode, and drag a chisel tool directly against the spinning form to remove or build up material — the mesh regenerates in real time from the updated profile. Live readouts track the swept volume via the disk-integration method, the maximum radius, and the polygon resolution of the revolved surface, tying the interaction back to the underlying calculus and 3D-modelling technique.
