Food poisoning almost never comes from a single dramatic mistake — it comes from bacteria being given time and warmth to multiply. This simulator visualizes a plate of food sitting at a chosen storage temperature: a colony of bacteria grows on its surface following the same exponential-growth pattern that governs real foodborne pathogens, fastest inside the "danger zone" between about 4 °C and 60 °C and fastest of all near human body temperature. Slide the temperature into the fridge range and growth almost stops; slide it into cooking range and the colony dies back.
