🐝 Apiary Site Design and Layout for Efficient Operations

A 3D bee yard where you place hive stands, a windbreak and an access path on a virtual plot, adjusting spacing and orientation to see how sun exposure, wind shelter and beekeeper workflow efficiency change.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

Entrance orientation relative to morning sun, windbreak placement relative to hive height, and hive spacing all trade off against each other — tighter layouts speed up inspections but raise drift and robbing risk between colonies.

🎮 How to Use

Set hive count, spacing, entrance heading and windbreak distance, then pick a row, staggered or clustered layout pattern. Watch the sun exposure, wind shelter and workflow bars update, and see red flight paths flag hive-to-hive drift conflicts.

💡 Did You Know?

Many beekeepers face hives southeast so morning sun reaches the entrance early, prompting foragers to start work sooner in the day than a north-facing colony would.
