A branching mycelial network colonises a decaying log in 3D, and every hyphal node's brightness is driven by a real enzymatic rate law: an Arrhenius temperature term (rising with warmth, then collapsing above ~30°C as the enzyme denatures) multiplied by a Michaelis-Menten oxygen term, and scaled by wood moisture and decay-stage substrate availability. Adjust the five environment sliders to watch the whole network dim, brighten, or glow unevenly from surface to core, and click anywhere on the log to seed a new patch of growth.
