The 3D version of this simulator lets you orbit a mitotic cell and watch chromosomes condense, align, and separate in perspective. This 2D companion keeps the same underlying phase model — interphase through cytokinesis, spindle poles pulling sister chromatids apart — but renders it as a flat top-down cross-section and pairs it with a live kymograph: a space-time diagram that plots every chromatid's horizontal position against phase-time as the cycle runs. Kymographs are exactly how biologists actually read chromosome-segregation timing off real time-lapse microscopy, so scrubbing the phase slider here traces out the same fan-shaped divergence pattern — flat during interphase, steepening sharply through anaphase — that shows up in a real segregation-timing plot, without needing to rotate a 3D camera to see it.
