Genome Sequencing — Shotgun Assembly Simulator

This simulator recreates the shotgun sequencing workflow: a genome is broken into many short, randomly-placed reads, each carrying its own sequencing errors, and a real greedy overlap-layout-consensus algorithm reassembles them into contigs purely by comparing read sequences to one another — never by cheating with known positions. Tune read length, coverage depth and error rate to see how each one trades off against assembly completeness, contig count and gap formation, exactly as it does in a real sequencing lab.
