How it works

Each rabbit seeks the nearest grass patch, eats it for energy and reproduces when well fed. Each fox seeks the nearest rabbit within its hunting range; catching one refills its energy. Both species lose energy every step and die when it runs out — the same simple local rules that produce the real Lotka-Volterra boom-and-bust cycle.
