Penguin Huddle Wave: Thermoregulation Lab (2D)

This 2D companion strips the 3D colony march down to the thermoregulation mechanics themselves: a top-down view of an emperor-penguin-style huddle where every bird runs its own heat balance driven by real wind-shelter geometry, not scripted animation. Windward-edge birds lose heat fast, cool below a comfort threshold, and shuffle toward the warmest nearby neighbors; that constant inward flux displaces already-warm interior birds back toward the edge, producing the documented huddle-wave turnover and a slow downwind creep of the whole formation.
