Forest Parameters

Binturongs 12

Night darkness 63%

Darker nights slow travel speed and add wandering noise to every step.

Tree memory 78%

Higher memory means a binturong more often heads straight for the richest known fruiting tree instead of a random one.

How it works — nocturnal route memory

Each binturong walks between fruit trees scattered across the forest floor. Every tree holds a fruit level that depletes as it is eaten and regrows slowly afterwards. When a binturong needs a new target, the tree memory slider sets the chance it recalls the richest nearby tree instead of wandering toward a random one — a simple stand-in for spatial memory of past fruiting sites.

Night darkness — slows travel speed and adds sideways wander to every step, the way poor visibility lengthens real nocturnal routes.
Tree memory — the probability of picking the best-scoring tree (fruit level divided by distance) rather than a random one.
Energy — drains while traveling (faster in the dark) and refills while feeding at a tree, capped at 100%.
Fruit stops — a running count of every time a binturong arrives at a tree with fruit to eat.
