How it works

Each bee runs a small state machine: wait in the hive, fly out to a randomly chosen flower, hover there for a moment to "collect" nectar, fly back to the entrance, and deposit — which is the only moment the nectar counter increases. That round trip, not any single flight, is the actual behaviour the 3D companion models; drawn flat from the side it reads as an arc leaving the hive, a pause over a flower, and an arc coming home.

Wind adds a steady horizontal drift term to every bee's velocity and sways the flower stems, so a strong headwind visibly slows the outbound leg. Time of day swaps the sky gradient and dims the flower colours toward night without changing the underlying foraging logic.

Bee count — how many bees are active at once (idle ones wait their turn inside the hive).
Bee speed — multiplies flight speed on every leg of the trip.
Wind strength — adds drift to flight and sway to the flowers.
Flower count — how many foraging targets are scattered across the meadow.
Time of day — morning / day / sunset / night sky and lighting.
