Germinated sapling
This 2D companion models the actual mechanics of scatter-hoarding: agoutis carry seeds from a mother tree and bury them across many small, spaced-out caches rather than one large store, imperfectly remember where each one is, and compete with pilferage from other animals for every cache left unattended. The caches an agouti forgets — and that survive being raided — are the ones that can germinate into new trees, which is the real seed-dispersal service scatter-hoarding rodents provide. Toggle Scatter vs. Larder mode and the spacing, memory, and pilferage sliders to see how the anti-theft logic of "many small caches" actually plays out.
