A load cell under the hive, a probe thermometer in the brood nest and a humidity sensor stream readings to a gateway every few minutes — the same three channels a real smart-hive kit reports.
- Weight — rises through the day as foragers bring in nectar, plateaus overnight, and slowly falls over winter as stores are consumed. A sudden multi-kilogram drop in minutes is the signature of a swarm leaving with roughly a third of the workforce.
- Brood-nest temperature — a healthy cluster holds this at ~35°C almost regardless of the weather outside, by shivering to generate heat or fanning to shed it. A temperature that drifts away from 35°C and starts tracking outside conditions means the cluster can no longer regulate itself — a late sign of collapse.
- Humidity — normally cycles with nectar curing and ventilation. Rising and staying high without bees fanning it back down points at an unattended, failing colony (and a mould risk for the comb).
This is the flat 2D companion to the 3D advanced-and-smart-beekeeping-equipment-lab honey-extractor rig: the same simulated hive telemetry, read here as scrolling sensor dashboards instead of an in-scene readout.
