Research Team Size vs. Communication Overhead

Collaborative research projects face a classic resource-allocation trade-off: more collaborators mean more ideas and more hands on the problem, but they also mean more communication channels to keep synchronised. This simulator models a research team's net output as team size grows, combining a linear synergy bonus with the quadratic communication cost first described by Brooks's Law — the same "Mythical Man-Month" effect that explains why adding people to a struggling project can make it slower. Drag the team-size slider to grow or shrink the group and watch the complete-graph "team ring" gain edges and message pulses, tune the synergy and overhead coefficients to see the optimal team size n* shift on the live output curve, or jump straight to the current optimum.
