Visual-Inertial Odometry: Camera-Corrected AR Tracking

Every augmented- and virtual-reality headset has to answer one question continuously: where exactly am I in the room, right now? This simulator builds the core spatial-computing mechanic behind that answer — visual-inertial odometry. A virtual headset moves through a room scattered with trackable surface features. Its inertial sensor (IMU) integrates motion at high rate but drifts unboundedly on its own, shown as a diverging red ghost path; its camera periodically re-locks onto the fixed feature points it can currently see, snapping the fused estimate — the violet device you fly around — back toward the true path. Tune the IMU's bias noise, the camera's correction rate, and how feature-rich the environment is, and watch in real time how visual-inertial fusion keeps a device's sense of its own position bounded indefinitely, exactly as ARKit, ARCore and HoloLens do on real hardware.
