Both dispatchers receive the identical randomly generated stream of passenger calls (same origin floor, destination floor and arrival instant) — the only difference is scheduling logic, so the wait-time gap is a fair, direct comparison. SCAN cars sweep floor by floor, servicing every call ahead of them in the current direction, and reverse only once nothing remains ahead — the LOOK variant used by real elevator controllers.
